![]() UA Math Placement AssessmentThe results of this assessment will be used to place students into their initial math courses. Eligibility: This assessment is completed online, starting in Mid-April, ideally before the orientation session prior to matriculation. For more information regarding it and its requirements, visit the University of Arkansas Mathematical Sciences Website http://math.uark.edu/ To take the assessment, log into your ISIS portal at http://isis.uark.edu/ Registration: There is no pre-registration. Test fees: There are no fees. Basic Procedures: The UA Math Placement Assessment is composed of review problems and three timed assessments. All students must start with UA Preparedness for Algebra (PALG). Upon satisfying the minimum score for PALG, the student may continue with UA Mastery of College Algebra (MALG). Upon satisfying the minimum score for MALG, the student may either place in the desired course (see list below) or take UA Preparedness for Calculus (PCALC) if they wish to place into MATH 2554C Calculus I. Students have three attempts to satisfy the minimum score for each assessment and ample opportunity to study sample problems to review the required mathematical skills. If, after three attempts, students do not meet the minimum score (below), they will only be allowed to enroll in the course in which they qualify.
