Accommodated Testing Student Instructions
Getting Started
- Faculty Notification: Students must request accommodation letters for each course through the Accommodations Portal. The CEA has step by step instructions for requesting these letters on their website.
- Accommodations: Instructors determine how accommodations are provided for their course. If they determine
our services are needed they will direct you to schedule with us.
- Remote Exams: Exams offered remotely (not taken in the classroom) should not be taken with Testing Services. Most accommodations are available within the remote testing system. Communicate with your instructor!
- Appointments: Please schedule all of your exams including the final early in the semester. Those
dates should be listed in your course syllabus.
- Exam appointments cannot be made until the professor has completed the testing agreement for the course.
- Modifying an Appointment: Exam appointments can be rescheduled.
- You must contact your instructor for approval before rescheduling.
- Provide justification in the system when modifying the appointment.
Appointment Deadlines
USE OUR STEP BY STEP APPOINTMENT WIZARD
Appointment Deadline
Exams and Midterms - Students must schedule all appointments through the Student Portal at least one (1) week in advance. Appointment requests are disabled two (2) business days before the test date. Please
book early to secure a seat - don't wait until the last minute!
Finals - The deadline to schedule a final exam with us is two weeks before Reading Day.
How to submit an exam appointment request
Early Arrival
Students may arrive up to 20 minutes before their scheduled exam time, and we will do our best to check them in early for their exam. Please note, some instructors may have set the start time for your computer-based exam to the exact scheduled time. In this case, you will need to wait at the workstation until the exam opens.
Late Arrival Policy
Students should arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled exam time. This allows time for students to be properly checked in before the exam start time. Students arriving more than 15 minutes late without prior approval must complete their exam by the scheduled end time. If they start late, they will fill out the Exam Time Acknowledgment form, which is shared with their instructor. Note: If taking an online exam, you may see an end time that doesn't accurately reflect your late start time. In this case, you must submit the exam when your appointment time ends as agreed to in the Exam Time Acknowledgment form. Alternatively, they can cancel the appointment and coordinate with their instructor for other testing arrangements. Students who do not arrive within 30 minutes of their scheduled start time will be considered a no-show.
Missed Appointments / No-Show Policy
We expect students to be respectful of the time Testing Services dedicates to preparing
for their appointment. Also, consider the other students who may not have been able
to schedule a test because a workstation was reserved for your exam, but you missed
the appointment. Because of this, after three missed appointments, we will let your
instructor know and require a meeting with a Testing Services staff member before
scheduling any future appointments. Note: Students should cancel or reschedule their
appointments through their student portal account within AIM as soon as they know
they will not be taking the exam at Testing Services to avoid a no-show.
How to modify or cancel an appointment

Remote Proctored Exams
If your course has remote exams, you likely do not need to schedule your exam with
Testing Services. Most accommodations should be facilitated remotely, such as extra
time, a distraction-reduced environment, and brief breaks. Notify your instructor
at least two weeks before your exam to discuss your accommodations and how they will
be provided. We have compiled a list of potential study or testing spaces for these
exams.
