ParaPathways

The ParaPathways (ParaProfessional) Assessment is designed for individuals seeking to become, or currently serving as, paraeducators who support classroom teachers. The tests assess whether the paraeducator possesses the essential skills necessary to help students develop foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.

ParaPathways Assessment

The ParaPathways Assessment represents the next generation of paraeducator assessment, building upon the foundation of the original ParaPro Assessment, while adapting to meet today’s classroom demands.

The new assessment is split into two separately timed subtests:

  • 5758 Reading and Writing (85 minutes)
  • 5759 Mathematics (60 minutes)

Score Reports

Unofficial scores will be available onscreen and can be printed at the end of your test. Additional score reports can be ordered over the phone with a credit card by calling ETS at 1-800-772-9476.

Official scores are automatically sent to the state's educator credentialing office and the school district you selected as your score recipient at the time of your test. Scores are received in approximately 3 weeks.

Identification Requirements

A valid original U.S. government or state issued identification with a recent photograph, first and last name, date of birth, expiration date, and signature.

Retest Restriction

You can retake the test once as soon as you would like. If more than one retake is necessary, you must wait 21 days after your most recent attempt, and then, you can retake the test two more times. Continued retakes will follow the same pattern of a 21-day waiting period after two (2) attempts.
